Birthday Badgers
25/10/2020
Five visitors a night
October was a bit of a strange month, normally I travel abroad to celebrate my birthday but this was one of the very few times I found myself in the UK. I was feeling quite despondent, lockdown had been tough and simple things such as going into work, having a meal in a restaurant with a group of friends, visiting the cinema or a weekend away were distant memories. I was fortunate that my visitors were regularly arriving to dig my garden up or take a drink. I had five visitors, Blondie, Patch, Pixie, Humbug and Truffle all passing through at some point over my birthday weekend. This is Truffle looking at me as if to say, it could be worse....
Watching the badgers and wondering who will amble through the garden were moments that made tough times a little easier. A huge distraction to the daily montomy and I was thankful I lived in such a place to witness these fascinating animals going about their routines most nights.
